This is an assortment of data collected by the Society and its' members, mainly Birth, Marriage & Death records but can also include any recorded event such as Newspaper Articles eg. Obituaries, Seaman Certificates, etc.
Monumental Inscriptions Updated 17/04/2025
Graveyard recording is an ongoing project and is a two stage process:
The inscription records will be available for searching on the website as soon as they have been done, these records will have been allocated a temporary reference which may change once the survey has been completed.
When completed the Society will produce an A4 booklet.

This is an assortment of photos submitted by Members or donated to the Society.

The Societys' magazines are readable online as PDF files, which also allows them to be downloaded.
Articles in the newsletter are copyright of the Society and its' authors and may not be reproduced without permission of the editor.

Trees Updated 26/03/2025
Members are invited to share their own basic family trees on the OFHS website on the understanding that the information contained therein can be used by other members for their own personal use.
The Society has scanned over 2000 paper trees submitted to us, whilst an excellent source of information, they may naturally no longer be up to date and we would always recommend confirming details with documentary evidence from Scotlands People or another reliable source.
